Cookie Policy

Last updated: 1 May 2026

This policy explains what cookies Finovo sets, why we set them, and how you can control them.

1. What are cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember your preferences, keep you signed in, and measure how the site is used. Similar technologies — such as localStorage — serve comparable purposes.

2. Cookies we use

Finovo operates two domains: getfinovo.com (marketing site) and app.getfinovo.com (application). The table below lists every cookie or storage key either domain may set.

Name / patternTypePurposeExpires
__clerk_*EssentialClerk authentication — keeps you signed in to app.getfinovo.comSession / 1 year
gf_cookie_consentEssentialStores your cookie-consent choice (localStorage key)Persistent (localStorage)
va_* / _vercel_*AnalyticsVercel Web Analytics — anonymous page-view measurementUp to 1 year

3. Essential cookies

Essential cookies are strictly necessary to deliver the services you request. They enable you to log in, navigate securely, and use core application features. Because they are necessary, they are set regardless of your consent choice. You cannot opt out of essential cookies without also losing access to the features they power.

4. Analytics cookies

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns — pages visited, referral sources, and rough geographic region. Vercel Analytics does not use fingerprinting, does not share data with advertising networks, and does not track you across other websites.

Analytics cookies are set only after you accept cookies via the consent banner. If you decline, the va_* and _vercel_* cookies are never created.

5. Your choices

When you first visit getfinovo.com you will see a cookie-consent banner. Accepting enables analytics; declining keeps only essential cookies active.

To change your choice later, open your browser developer tools and run:

localStorage.removeItem('gf_cookie_consent')

then reload the page. The banner will reappear and you can make a new selection.

You can also configure your browser to block or delete cookies at any time. Most browsers let you do this in Settings → Privacy & Security. Note that blocking essential cookies will prevent you from signing in to the Finovo application.

6. Third-party cookies

Finovo does not embed third-party advertising networks, social media widgets, or tracking pixels on any page. The only third-party service that may set cookies on our domains is Clerk (authentication) and Vercel (analytics), both described above.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the cookies we use or applicable regulations. We will post the updated policy here and update the date shown above. For material changes we will notify you via the in-app notification system.

8. Contact

If you have questions about our use of cookies, please contact us at hello@getfinovo.com.
